Sub-junior and Cadet  TT Teams announced for Ajmer Nationals

The Goa Table Tennis Association (GTTA) has announced the Goa teams to participate in the sub-junior and cadet team national tournament to be played at Ajmer from December 24-29, 2013. Wesley, Vaidik, Urmila, Tanisi are chosen to lead the teams.  Tanisi is seeded 2nd in Cadet girls category.  The team has left for Ajmer on Decemver 21.

The members of the team are:  Sub-junior boys: Wesley do Rosario, Siddhanth Parekh, Rutuj  Sonawane and Kewal Tamankar. Sub-junior girls: Tanisi Kirtani, Urmila Mense, Arantxa Noronha and Isha Bhandary. Cadet boys: Vaidik Shrivastava, Nagesh Verenkar, Shashwat Mhapsekar and Sirus Sah. Cadet girls: Tanisi Kirtani,  Prutha Parrikar, Aditi Chodankar and Anushka Hammanavar. Irwin Cordo will accompany the team as coach while Jayant Hammanavar will be the manager and Sonal Shrivastava is the lady manager

State Table Tennis Championship for Adv. Madhav Rao Trophy and Veterans State Championship for Shri Chinmay Trophy 

The State Table Tennis Championship for Adv. Madhav Rao Trophy and Veterans State Championship for Shri Chinmay Trophywill be held at Indoor Stadium Campal from 6th to 10th Nov. 2013

Schedule of the event is as follows
6th Nov. : Mini Cadet and Cadet boys and Girls
7th Nov.: Sub Jr. Boys upto Pre quarter final & Sub Jr. Girls.
8th Nov.: Junior girls, Ladies and Men upto Pre - quarter Finals.
9th Nov.: Junior boys and Men quarter finals onwards.
10th Nov.: Veterans 40+, 50+ & 60+ at 10 a.m.

10th Nov.: All finals 4 P.M onwards.

Entries should be sent to Mr. Ashok Mahambre, General Secretary, latest by 2nd Nov. 2013. No Spot entries will be accepted. The fixtures will be uploaded on the GTTA. website- wwww.ttgoa.in by 5th Nov. 2013

46th Adv Madhav Rao State Open Table Tennis Championship DAY TWO

Wesley, Keval to meet in Sub-junior boys finals.

Wesley DoRosario (Fomento Resources) has set-up a title clash with Keval Tamankar at the finals of the The 46^th Adv Madhav Rao State Table Tennis Open Championships organized by the Goa Table Tennis Association (GTTA), and currently underway at the table tennis hall at the Indoor Stadium, Campal, Panjim.

In the semifinals, Wesley DoRosario beat Rutuj Sonawane 11-4, 11-8, 12-10 while Keval Tamankar caused a major upset when he rallied to beat Siddhant Parekh 11-9, 3-11, 11-4 8-11 11-4 in a five-set thriller.

In the quarter final, Rutuj Sonawane got the better of Manguesh Sakordekar 8-11, 12-10, 8-11, 11-5, 12-10 and Wesley DoRosario (Fomento Resources) beat Varun Gangodkar 11-5, 11-5, 11-7 while Keval Tamankar beat Damodar Pai 11-4, 11-6, 11-5 and Siddhant Parekh beat Nikhil Jadav 11-8, 11-4, 11-8

Pre-quarterfinal other results: Rutush Sonawane beat Kartik Iyer 13-11, 6-11, 11-9, 13-11, Manguesh Sakordekar beat Neelay Kamat 11-7, 7-11, 11-6, 11-7, Wesley DoRosario (Fomento Resources) beat Ravindra Kudchadkar 11-5, 13-11, 11-5, Keval Tamankar beat Atharva Nadkarni 11-7, 11-2, 11-3, Damodar Pai beat Shashwat Mhapsekar 10-12, 11-9, 11-3, 5-11, 11-6 and Sidhant Parekh beat Mandar Joshi 11-2, 11-6, 11-8.

Adv Madhav Rao State Open Table Tennis Championship DAY ONE

Adv Madhav Rao Memorial State TT gets Underway.

The 46^th Adv Madhav Rao State Table Tennis Open Championships organized by the Goa Table Tennis Association (GTTA), got underway today with the mini-cadet boys and cadet boys category matches taking place at the Indoor Stadium table tennis hall at Campal, Panjim.

In the mini cadet boys category semi-final  Vaidik Shrivastava beat Shantiesh Mapxenkar 11-2, 11-2, 11-1 to enter the finals. He will meet Jayden Monteiro who got the better of Neelay Kamat 11-6, 11-8, 11-8 in the final.

In the cadet boys category semi-final , Varun Gangodkar beat Vaidik Shrivastava 8-11, 11-3, 13-11, 11-3 to set up a final clash with Wesley DoRosario (Fomento Resources)  who beat Mandar Joshi  11-4, 11-7, 11-4

In the cadet boys quarterfinals, Wesley DoRosario (Fomento Resources) beat Naguesh Verenkar 11-4, 11-6, 11-8 and Atharva Nadkarni lost to Mandar Joshi  7-11, 2-11, 6-11 while Varun Gangodkar beat Shaswat Mapxenkar 11-9, 12-10, 11-7 and Karl Gomindes lost to Vaidik Shrivastava 6-11, 4-11, 2-11. There was also a major upset when unseeded Naguesh Verenkar beat No 8 Neelay Kamat in the pre-quarter finals, in a keenly contested match, with a set-score of 3-2 

Quarterfinals mini cadet boys: Akshay Naik beat Govind Bharne 10-12, 11-5, 11-9, 11-9 while Aiden Furtado got the better of Stephen D’Costa 12-10, 13-11, 11-9. Nageush Verenkar beat Jayz Gomes 11-7, 8-11, 11-7, 11-7 and Nihal Virginkar beat Anshuman Agarwal  9-11, 7-11, 11-9, 11-9, 11-3.

In the other quarterfinals, Akshay Naik went down to Vaidik Shrivastava 1-11, 2-11, 1-11 while Nihal Virginkar lost to Shantish Mapxenkar 4-11, 2-11, 5-11. Jayden Monteiro beat Aiden Furtado  8-11, 11-4, 11-8, 14-12 and Neelay Kamat stretched Naguesh Verenkar to eventually win 5-11, 11-3, 12-10, 11-3, 11-8.
